Potent storm arrives Tues night

A very potent storm is arriving tonight (Tuesday) and will bring heavy rain, especially in the North Bay. A “bomb cyclone” is expected to deepen quickly off the PNW coast. A flood watch is in effect for the North Bay from 4am Wed through 5am Fri. A wind advisory is in effect from 10pm Tues through 6am Thurs for San Francisco and San Francisco Bay Shoreline, The Marin Hills, Western Sonoma County Hills, and Coastal North Bay Including Point Reyes National Seashore. The forecast map below from the NWS Ocean Prediction Center (OPS) for 4pm PST Tues Nov 19 shows the low pressure system offshore. The current Bay Area forecast calls for high rainfall amounts north of the Golden Gate Bridge, and high winds throughout most of the Bay Area. There is some uncertainty as to how much rain will fall south of the Golden Gate over the next few days. Stay tuned for updates.
